A Day At the Childrens Museum

Thursday, April 8th, 2010

Yesterday was a really nice day, so I decided to take the boys to the Children’s Muesum because we had nothing to do. It was basically the last warm day this week, before this cuckoo weather started to change again  :x   , so why not try to enjoy it?

Book of Eli

Monday, January 25th, 2010

I decided to watch The Book of Eli movie, starring Denzel Washington today. I was curious to see what it was all about and I enjoyed the movie until the end. There were a few parts of the movie that I didn’t care for, but I don’t want to spoil it so I’ll keep my opinion very simple. Overall the movie was great, but I did not appreciate Hollywood promoting a perversion of the Bible. They are so many new translations of the Bible that are all perversions of God’s word, and the Bible that was in this movie was one of them. At the very end of the movie the Bible isn’t a King James Bible. It’s a New King James Bible! That just killed it for me when it comes to this movie, but what do you expect? Nothing Godly comes from the world (Hollywood).

In other news we are suppose to be moving out of this God forsaken apartment into a house this week! I cannot wait to get out of here. I am tired of this place! The heat makes a loud banging  noise when it comes on. – It sounds like prisoners in chains, banging against the bars with them. Literally, that’s how loud it is.  On top of that, there’s this loud popping noise that I have to try to sleep through that happens from time to time over and over again. Of coarse we have the mice issue which we can hear them scurrying through the walls and on top of that I’m getting really sick and tired of someone leaving boxes of unwanted food outside my door like we’re some charity case or something! We have a fridge full of food and people have the nerve! It’s quite insulting! The food is usually just crap they don’t want, expired cans of stuff, and or stuff thats opened already! Why would I use your left over salt! Or sugar you tied in a food storage bag? Do I look that stupid or desperate to say the least? If it was that bad here, I could easily go up the hill(a few blocks) and ask my mom and dad for help before I ever feed my family the left over scraps out of someones cabinet! Seriously I can’t wait until we move out. I’m considering putting a note on our door stating:

Please do not leave food here, we are not a charity case! Thank you.

At first I thought it was just a nice gesture even though we didn’t need it, but when it started becoming an ongoing thing it’s really irritating and embarrassing! It gives people the impression that we don’t have anything and that we’re just this poor family, struggling just to put food on the table!!

Body Of Water Boutique

Monday, January 18th, 2010

Body of Water I’m feeling a little better today so I’m able to actually blog without feeling like I’m about to go vomit…ugh. I don’t really feel like talking about the reasons why I am so sick as of now so I’ll save that for a later date. Let’s just say being in the ER is no fun!

Anyways, I’ve been playing around in SecondLife and ended up abandoning my life as a mermaid and replaced my beautiful underwater reef with my own lil’ floating boutique on the water. I already designed 2 complete outfits a pair of boots in 3 different colors (which I may design over because the sculpted leg warmers need a little more work.), 7 different eyes and a cute tunic shirt available in 4 different colors, inspired by my favorite store Body Central!

Nautica Queen – New Year’s Gala

Friday, January 1st, 2010

I thought our  New Year’s was ruined due to my sister’s and her lying, but my husband really surprised me when he said that we were just going to take a cab to the Nautica, so I went a head and found a babysitter and got dressed in the champagne/gold outfit I purchased for our evening.

When we got downtown my hubby got the boarding passes and we waited in line to board the ship for dinner. It was really tired for some reason, but I wasn’t going to let my sudden spell of exhaustion ruin our evening either. As we boarded the ship, it was rather small in size to me, but I think that’s due to the fact that I’ve been spoiled from our honeymoon on a cruise ship which was enormous in size. Anyways, we got our pictures taken, checked our coats ,and were seated for dinner at a table that seated about 8 people. There were 3 other guest at the table when we were seated and the table was decorated with black, silver, and purple balloons, hats, champagne glasses, and noise makers. For appetizers there was mussels and chilled shrimp, but I didn’t take part in it at all for religious reasons. Instead I waited for the beef wellington hors d’oeuvres that the waiter came around with, which was delicious. We then sipped on a rather bland strawberry smoothie which could’ve been a lot sweeter – lol, and waited for dinner to be served.

Dinner was okay, but the best thing out of the entire course in my opinion was the salad. There was a lot of food at the buffet, but like all buffets the food is hardly ever the quality of a home  cooked and/or gourmet styled food. It’s usually rather bland. With all that said, I still had a great time and it was better than just sitting at home in an empty apartment doing nothing, while everyone else was out partying. On the other hand, the people whom sat at the table with us should have been the ones that stayed home because they were rather gloomy. They sat at the table the entire night and never cracked a smile. It was really quite depressing.

For the duration of the night we danced, watch old people get drunk and make a fool of themselves, and drank nasty champagne :D. I had a great time on the Nautica Queen this New Years because it was a new experience for the both of us. I’ve never done anything like that before. I’m usually at home on New Years Eve with my family, not doing anything special so this was a first!

BTW: Being around drunk old people is very entertaining and fun!

Happy New Year!

My Laptop is Broken

Monday, December 21st, 2009

My laptop is broken so I may not be online as much as usual because I have to use my hubby’s laptop while he is at work. I have a Toshiba laptop and for the last 2 1/2 months it has been shutting off on me randomly without any warning what so ever. I thought it was overheating, but when I was using it just yesterday, I had my laptop sitting on the window sill which is cool because it is cold out and my laptop shut off on me again. I had already called Toshiba several times beforehand and today I had to call them a total of 4 times.

My laptop wouldn’t do a System Restore or a System Recovery. After speaking to the tech the second to last time she advised me to do a System Recovery and I had her walk me through it. When I got off the phone with her my laptop was in the process of doing it until I checked on it a few minutes later and saw an error message on the screen. I then called Toshiba again and I was told it was something to do with the hardware and my computer needed to be sent in for repair – DUH! Thank God, my warranty doesn’t expire until February, but it really sucks that my computer is acting like that and I haven’t had it for a year. I’ve already made plans to purchase a desktop once February hits. To make matters worse I tried to restart my computer and my computer now fails to start. Instead I get this message

BOOTMGR Missing

Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to Restart

When I did that my computer failed to load Windows and would go back to a black screen displaying that message again. Now I can’t even use my computer at all. This really sucks because I just started a new project called: Mermaidiaries.com.

I decided to create a SecondLife role play saga in my spare time and my hubby and I already played out the prologue just the other night. If you’re interested in reading it visit my newest addition to the network: Mermaidiaries.com.

Last, but not least, if you noticed my site was down earlier, it was because I asked Hostgator to switch eternally-me.com to my primary domain name. I still have over 200 days left for Sweetvanillasugar.com, but I plan on letting that domain expire and moving our wedding website to a sub-domain under eternally-me.com.

Seaform Samara – My Adventures in SL

Friday, December 18th, 2009

I have to say, outside my home I’ve found my own little serene sanctuary in the world of SecondLife. I’ve designed a beautiful reef that emits soothing music and beautiful sea creatures. I can go online and look at my simulated creation of corals and underwater life, listen to sweet music and be free of the chaos of our destructive world when ever I desire.

Snapshot_010

There was a time when I was actually considering giving up SecondLife because of all the perverts online. People are so sick that they even take their perversions into the online human simulation world of SL and I was getting unwanted solicitations. Ever since I decided to explore the world of  the mystical mermaids all that unwanted perversions cease to exist and from then on I’ve experienced pure serenity when I’m on SL.

I Miss Florida

Friday, December 11th, 2009

Today I practically froze all day. For this apartment to have steam heat and 5 furnaces, it doesn’t do nothing for the temperature inside. I have a long sleeve shirt on, socks, pants, blanket and my legs and feet are still frozen. The windows in this place are crappy. I’m really afraid of how it’s gonna feel once it gets colder out. For the last two days it’s been 60 mph arctic winds and it’s currently 16 degrees outside. Can you see why I want to move back to Florida? This sucks!

I had that lousy landlord fix the shower and cabinet, but still waiting for the windows and closet to be fixed. I don’t even think I’ll be able to sleep tonight. I could barely sleep last night because it was so cold. I spent my entire night shivering. This really sucks, I am really missing Florida right now.

In other news, I played SecondLife for a bit while I froze in my apartment. I roleplay as a “Merrow” on SL when I’m bored from time to time. Merrow’s are the result of a Tekeli’li and a human mating. According to the SL Chronicles of Atlantis, Tekeli’li originated in Atlantis and separated themselves from humans when the destruction of Atlantis came to play because they found humans to be destructive. The have no hair on their bodies and are covered with scales and fins. They also protect the Atlantean crystals which are suppose to be very powerful.

Here’s a few picks of my SecondLife as a Mermaid:

Fashion Disaster’s of December

Saturday, December 5th, 2009

I meant to post this yesterday, but I ended up at my Mom’s all day long writing out my thank you cards. I still haven’t sent them because now I have to take a trip to the Post Office and get a book of stamps. I will try to accomplish that on Monday.

Today was pretty much a low key day. I slept in because I was up very late last night and just took care of the boys. Tomorrow my hubby will be at work all day long, so I’ll be all alone, just the boys, my 2 fish, my kitten and me. *Sigh*…

I guess that’s the price of being a house wife.

Special thanks to Shannon for showing me this site. I hate Metacafe and I use my Youtube account for my hair site, Growblackhair.NET. Thanks Girl!

White Chicken Chili Recipe

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

I have no idea what to write about today so I’ll share a recipe with you all. Today was quite boring actually because I slept in most of the day due to the fact that I was up until 2am doing laundry. Still 2 more loads to go, but I’m only washing one load today. Other than that all I did today was shampoo my hair with a baking soda and water rinse. I then discovered I had some buildup on my scalp and I did a brown sugar and conditioner scalp scrub. I cleaned that cheap Walmart fish tank out and put my Betta’s in a new tank. The male Betta is in his original tank, and I put the female in a glass jar I had until I can go to the pet store and get a new tank. Word to the Wise: Do not purchase pet items from Walmart!

My Male Betta My female Betta

I then took a trip to the hair store and paid for a hand dryer they forgot to charge me for the last time I was there, purchased some shea butter, and vegetable glycerin. I then went to CVS and made some wallet sized photo’s of me and Brian’s Royal Caribbean photo to send with the thank you cards. I came home and ordered some black soap online and that was pretty much my day.

Well, on with this infamous recipe of mine:

White Chicken Chili

  • 1 lb chicken breast cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1 small can of diced green chilies
  • 1 large white onion chopped
  • 3 cups of chicken broth
  • cumin, white or black pepper, salt, to taste
  • 1/4 tsp oregano
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • mozzarella cheese and sour cream
  • 2 cans of Great Northern Beans
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • Tortilla Chips

Directions:

  1. Melt butter and saute onion in a large sauce pan.
  2. Add chicken and brown until no pink is visible.
  3. Add chicken broth, chilies, beans, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  4. Bring to a boil and simmer for 30 minutes.
  5. Serve topped with cheese a dollop of sour cream and tortilla chips

Back to Reality

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

Today was a pretty busy day. I have so much to do now, since the wedding and honeymoon is out the way. I am currently sitting in front of a mound of dirty clothes. About 6 loads on the floor waiting to be washed, 2 loads downstairs being washed and dried, and 2 loads already completed. This is going to be a 2 day process.

Today started off slow because I was so tired due to the fact that Jeremiah is going through this stage where he gets up in the middle of the night and climbs in the bed with us. He sleeps rather wild, so it’s really hard to sleep next to the fact that Brian snores. I was totally exhausted in the morning.

When I finally pulled myself together we rushed to the bus stop to catch the bus to the mall. I put the boys on the Babies in Toyland train and purchased a pair of earrings to replace the ones I lost in the Bahamas. I then headed over to the bank and deposited some money in the ATM. I then went to the store to grab a few things for dinner and headed home.

Once we arrived home and put Jeremiah down for his nap, turned on Destin’s favorite movie and started on laundry and dinner. Tonight we ate my famous white chicken chili (Brian’s favorite). I am so tired right now…

Well, this entry is rather short because I don’t have enough energy to continue. I will fathom what energy I have left to dry and fold the last 2 loads I am washing tonight and start again tomorrow.

Goodnight.
