Disgusting
Last night was a really bad night for me. I woke up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and when I looked into the toilet I discovered the most horrific sight. It was a rat swimming around in the toilet! I ran and pulled my husband out of bed to show him whom was extremely shocked and angry when he saw it. He then flushed it down the toilet, which I was surprised it went down being that there was a huge chance it could’ve clogged the drain. I was so horrified and disgusted I couldn’t even go back to sleep, let alone go to the bathroom. I ended up holding it for as long as I could stand and I tossed and turned all night. When I finally fell asleep I dreamed of walking into the front room just to discover hundreds of rats running all over and my kitten was no where in sight. I really hate this apartment, if it’s not one thing it’s another!
This isn’t the first time I’ve seen rodents in here. I’ve seen field mice coming in through the heaters in the front room on several occasions and found rodent droppings in the drawer in the kitchen. I’ve also been kept up a few nights to the sound of scratching in my bedroom closet. I cannot wait until we move out of here! We applied for another apartment a few weeks ago and I pray that we get approved, this is just complete nonsense! I can’t have my children sleeping and eating in these conditions! It’s unsanitary! I’ve never moved into an apartment and had rodent issues! First this landlord moves us into an apartment infested with bedbugs and now this!
Wow. I’m sorry to have to deal with that nonsense! I would be very upset also. I hope that you guys can get into a better place.
oh my, i’d freak out too ! i saw a dead rat infront of the school before but thats all… if i saw one in my house, i’d probably die. thats just nasty D:
OMG! That is horrible! Rats are disgusting! I wouldn’t be able to ever use that toilet again!
Those type of living conditions are awful. I really hope you can find a way out of it. You do not need to be living in that kind of filth!
Are sure it was a rat and not a mouse. Well I’ve been there and it’s awful – had mice not RATS. You really need to find out where they are coming from and get someone to block it up. Good Luck.

It was A LOT bigger than the field mice, I’ve seen in here. We’ve already put our money into escrow as of today due to the rodent problem as well as other issues we are having.
I can believe that it was a rat in the toilet. I can also believe that your husband was able to flush it. Rats can contour their bodies to fit in the smallest and unusual places. Typically, if their head can fit into a crevice/hole, they can get their bodies in as well.
Rats are vile and disgusting creatures and you nor your kids need to deal with that! They carry so many diseases and even their little droppings can make you extremely sick! I wish you the best and I hope you guys get to move out soon!
Oh my! I know how it feels to live in a place where you don’t necessarily feel secure. It can be stressful. Specially if you have little ones to watch outfor. I do hope things imporve for y’all soon!
Wow I wouldn’t have been able to sleep either. I pray that you find a new apartment asap because your family shouldn’t have to live like that. Pray on it and be safe.
