Google AdSense Sucks

I meant to blog about this last week, but I forgot so today is Google’s lucky day.

So I’ve been using Google Adsense for about 10 months now and so far I’ve only made a total of $17.35. Google doesn’t disperse any checks until you reach a minimum of $100 and at the rate of $17 every 10 months it will be about 6 years before I get that check, but I won’t be wasting my time with Google that long to even see that check.

I’m going to give Google 6 more months from today. To me you have to be a really big website with lots of traffic and people clicking on ads to make money off of them and people don’t come to my site to click on ads at all so right now I’m second guessing myself as to why I even wasted my time putting their ads on my site.

According to Google I’ve given 23,556 ad impressions since March 2007 and I’ve had 75 clicks and 164 search queries with 16 clicks, but I only got paid in total is a lousy $17.35. Man that sucks.

I remember when I first decided to add Google to my site. My plan was to just use these ads to pay for my site every month, but in 10 months Google Adsense has only paid for one month of service and I’m $2.60 away from paying for 2 months of service. Hmmm… I think I’m really wasting my time with these stupid ads, but we’ll see in 6 months.

If nothing works out I’ll just sell my own ad space to anyone whom wants to advertise. Even if it is just 5 bucks for a whole year. At least I wouldn’t have to wait on getting the 5 bucks.

Yes, google blows, which is why I’ve given up on them entirely. I know it’s a stretch from just putting ads on your site, but have you thought of payperpost?

I tried the ad thing. It didn’t work out quite well because to be honest, no one really likes clicking on ads, which is probably why those type of things pay out in such a frugal manner.

I never really wanted to add ads to my site. I guess though if I got a lot of traffic I would consider it though. I think your idea of just selling ad space is good, that way you have your money, and even if only two people buy the space then that’s over half of what you made with Google so far. Good luck.

Don’t get discouraged, you are better off than some people. Just keep on blogging and try to read on how to layout your site so that you optimize the placements of your ads. Google has a pretty interesting advice at the Google Adsense help center.

Ah. I hardly ever look at google ads much less click on them. Besides, they’re so unattractive. Lol. You’re much better off advertising for a specific company. Monthly ads maybe?

I used Google AdSense when the minimum payout was $20. It took me about 6 months or so to actually make that much, though. I still think it was a waste, though. It made my site look icky and I didn’t even benefit very much from it.

I agree… the adsense stuff, doesn’t work… I’ve tried it for a month, and not even 5 cents!!
They are promoting it too much and personally, for personal websites, I think it’s a waste of time and space, I hate to see ads on a personal website anyhow.

                    • Hello. This is Ryan. I have read what you have had to say and the comments posted. Ok…let me tell you, I am not rich off Google yet, however I have found a couple things that are working and getting better day by day. I have a regular website that you can go to and look at:

                      http://www.eisencorp.com

Scroll down to where it says “Just Ask The Snake”
This will take you to another site that I have named:

                      http://www.rattlesearch.com

I have been getting customers to view these pages and they have been clicking on the advertise google links, especially in the loans section. I will come back to your blog to see if anyone else has put up any other ideas. I think we all want to make good money with adsense. There are some out there making huge amounts off of it. Hope we all get there!

Yeah I only had mine up for a couple months and I had a total of like 4 cents. I didn’t bother re-adding them to my site once I switched to WordPress, so not worth the effort. :/ A lot of people do PPP and stuff, but I’d rather not clutter up my blog with it.

O wow that really sucks. You should join Smorty if you meet the requirements. I’m going to but I have to get more blog entries first and some other things I forgot. My friend joined it and made around $40 something. I think its really good.

I just put Google ad sense on my blog today too except I don’t plan on making much money off it either. I just want to test if I can. I never* click on ads online so I don’t really understand why other people do too. LOL.

Have you tried Chitika? Over the last year I compiled some statistics of my earnings and I actually earned twice as much with Chitika compared to AdSense. For those of you considering Chitika – try it! You can check out this Chitika review for more info.

You guys should really try adbrite to make money. They’re even better than adsense and they do send you your money. you can make about 200$ a day if you really work on it and have a good strategy.
