Pitbulls – Nothing but Vicious Monsters
I’ve been messed up for the last 2 days behind something I saw the other day when I went to get the kids from daycare.
I pulled up and parked on the street as usual and as I got out my car I saw a man walking his two dogs (Looked like golden retrievers to me), when all of suddenly 2 pitbulls, one large white one and one medium brown one burst out the door running for his dogs. The pits immediately began bitting this poor man’s dogs around the neck trying to kill them. He tried snatching his dogs away by the leash and kicking the pit bulls, but they wouldn’tlet go. The owner of the pits ran out side with some stupid plastic handle brown trying to get his large white dog off one of the man’s dogs. I watched in horror as they continued to try to get the pits to let go. The owner of the retrievers continued kicking the pits and pulling on the white pit, but it wouldn’t let go. His other dog was lying in the grass almost motionless while the medium pit continued to clench its teeth into it’s neck. I was frozen in horror from the gruesome attack I was witnessing. I wanted to go, but I couldn’t bring my feet to move.
When I snapped out of the shock I went inside the daycare and told the owner. She told me her husband was attacked by the same white pitbull until he was bloody and no one did anything about it. She went out and the men were still trying to get the pits to let go. Someone went and got a water hose and hosed the pits off the dogs. We were 2 houses down and I could see the bright red blood of the poor retriever all over the white pit’s mouth. That image has yet to leave my head. It was the most disturbing thing I have ever seen.
The owner of the retrievers went to get his wife whom started screaming “Oh my God” when she saw their dogs. The police were called, but the car just drove up the street and left like nothing happened. He didn’t stop or ask anybody what took place…nothing.
What is this world coming to when a pit bull breeder can breed these monstrous animals across the street from a childcare center? What is this world coming to when someone’s dog can nearly kill a human being, but not be put down? Can anyone answer this for me? Thank God my children weren’t outside when this happened!!
I’m thinking about notifying the counter commissioner because the next time around it may be someones child.

i have a lab/pit mix and i am thankful he is very very gentle.i knew a couple that had a pure brindle pit that was a female.they kept her in a cage all the time.she turned feral.that sounds like what the pitbull you mentioned probably turned into.
pits do get a bad rep but if they are hand raised and babied like my doggy then they wouldnt be so aggressive.some people are idiots.in most counties they are banned because of how aggresive they can be.
i hope that the man and his dog are alright.sorry for such a long comment.thanks for stopping by my site.
All I can say is… I love animals, but I’m fearful of pitbulls. You just never know if that killer instinct will be triggered… I’m respectful of that and I stay away from them when they’re near me…
I am so sorry you had to witness such a terrifying attack. You nailed the problem: Nobody is accountable. Not the dog, the owner, animal control or city officials. Unfortunately this has been going on for over 20 years. Just about everyone understands that pit bulls are more dangerous (and more likely to have dangerous owners too) than other dogs.
A police taser weapon does not stop a pit bull. Continuous beating with a bat does not stop one either. So what on earth are these dogs doing in our neighborhoods? The answer isn’t rocket science. Still though, most elected officials refuse to touch the issue for fear of backlash.
Meanwhile thousands upon thousands of individuals and dogs will become victimized by pit bulls. Nine times out of 10, none of these victims will receive civil or criminal recourse either. Our system is broken, broken, broken in the area of dog law and dog owner regulation.
I have a pitbull, and she is the sweetest thing ever. “Killer” instincts aren’t triggered in most pits, but some pitbulls are raised aggressive. She sleeps on my daughter’s bed curled up against her every night, and I completely trust her. Also, it’s almost always un-neutered males that attack.
Any dog can be vicious regardless of breed. The problem lies with irresponsible owners who allow their dogs to run free and a flawed system that does not enforce its dog laws. Pit bulls were bred for animal aggression, not human aggression. Human aggression is a serious temperament flaw.

That is absolutely terrible and to be quite honest, I despise dogs for that very reason. I’m definitely not a dog lover and if one ever tried to attack me I probably would become unusually violent. The thing is, people don’t have respect for citizens, so they allow their damned dogs to roam anywhere they please. Then when someone gets hurt it’s, “Oh he’s usually not like that”. That’s a load of crap. Any animal is prone to having violent moments. Hell, even we, as humans, have moments like that as well.
Sorry to hear about what you witnessed… at least your sons weren’t with you!! Imagine the scar that it can leave for them. I wonder why the daycare won’t petition to the city regarding that, I mean, like you said, what if one of the kids gets attacked?
That’s why with Canada, it’s outlawed to breed pits now because they’re too dangerous and unpredictable. It’s true… a dog only is gentle when it’s raised in the proper home. My dog is a Pom Poo, but she’s so sweet and gentle and has a great personality, unfortunately she loves people too much so if anyone broke into my home, I can’t count on her to help me. haha
Petey of “Our Gang” was a pit bull, and Helen Keller kept one as a pet. If you research you will find many many pits that were good … even in cartoons. A pit rescued in 1985 on the streets of South Los Angeles by County Fire Station 14 was the station’s beloved mascot for years. A dignified pit bull graced an American propaganda poster during World War I, USMC Sargeant Stubby was a hero and veteran of WWI and the US most decorated military dog. ttp://www.digitaldog.com/stubby.html
Needless to say, I have an American Staffordshire Terrier in my home, he is family. I also have 9 grandchildren who rang in age from 4 – 18 that love Shadrack. He is aging now but has never in his live been accused of attacking anything bigger than a wild rabbit (and he didn’t hurt it). I am doing a myspace page on pit bulls now and pray that you will read some of the information that I have placed there. I am sorry that you had to witness the results of a bad owner/breeder but I am also sorry that the breed of this loving animal is so badly being abused.
Proud owner of Shadrack; my companion and friend.
I have a pit bull and I can assure you that he is not mean he is the most gentle dog I ever had. If your dog attacks someone then you should really consider the way you train your animals. Blame the owner not the dog.

I own a Boxer and an English Bulldog. Both breeds have a history of being used for aggressive sports. Both breeds were used dogfighting and bullbaiting-in which the dog would attack a bull and wrangle it to the ground by attaching itself to its nose. So you can see there is some viciousness to both their lineage and yet both of them are the most loving pets I have owned. Should I consider them as ticking timebombs because of their history? Any dog can dangerous in the wrong hands. please know the facts before making bias judgements.
