Samara’s Creamy Mac & Cheese
* Note: This is my very own delicious version of mac and cheese!
Ingredients
4 cups of macaroni noodles
1 stick of butter
4 tablespoons flour
4 cups of milk
1/4 cup chopped onions
1/4 salt
1/8 pepper
8 oz Mild Cheddar (Cut in cubes)
8 oz Medium Cheddar (Cut in cubes)
8 oz Sharp Cheddar (Cut in cubes)
4 oz Shredded Mild Cheddar
Directions:
Cook macaroni noodles according to package directions drain and set aside.
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add flour one tablespoon at a time and whisk. Add milk slowly while whisking. This step is very important to get the creamy texture. Add the milk 1/2 cup at a time while whisking together.
Next Add onions, salt, and pepper until blended well.
Add cheese cubes 1 cup at a time. and whisk gently to melt the cheese completely. Add more salt to taste if needed.
Pour macaroni noodles in a glass dish and pour cheese sauce over them mixing well. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the mac and cheese and bake for 20 minutes.
Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
