Stupid Upgrade

I upgraded to WordPress 2.3 a few hours ago and the damn upgrade screwed up my entire blog (database related errors). I really didn’t feel like trying to figure out what went wrong so I decided to restore my blog back to version 2.2 according to Fantanstico’s instructions, but a fatal mishap occurred. My blog wasn’t backed-up and when I decided to change my cpanel skin I couldn’t access my deleted files. For the last 2 hours I did not have a website!

I called, IM’d and emailed hostgator to get help, but the phone call and chat was pointless because they both told me to email hostgator support also stating that I would have to pay $10 for my site to be restored and I have to wait 1 1/2 hours just to get a response from them.

I was so pissed so I kept checking my backups and mysteriously 2 recent backups just suddenly appeared. I ended up restoring my site myself. I had to replace all the files and empty and replace my database again. It is now 12:30am and I think I finally got my site back together without hostgators help.

I just have to look it over a bit to make sure everything is running properly. I don’t think I’ll be upgrading my blog anytime soon because this is too much to be going through.

I had this problem before as well…,
it’s actually due to your plugins. You should deactivate all your plugins first, upgrade, and then you will see which plugins needs upgrading in order to be compatible with 2.3.1.
