We’ve Moved!

I know I haven’t been doing a good job updating my blog lately, but it’s because we were moving. There is still so much to do, but I have time today to write whats been going on my life as of late. We moved on January 26th, into a 2 family home which is huge with 3 bedrooms, a large dining and living room, and a decent sized kitchen. I really love it. Not to mention the backyard is so huge the kids would get lost back there! :)

There are some issues with the house such as they failed to shampoo the rug, some knobs need to be replaced, etc. We are planning on having that stuff taken care of ASAP. I don’t understand why you’d move people into a home and fail to clean the rug. That’s the most irritating aspect of it all if you ask me. Especially because my son is allergic to pet hair and I’ve been seeing it all over the house. Trust me, I’m not very happy about that at all.

Once all those minor details are finally taken care of, we plan on painting the walls and furnishing our home with brand new furniture from IKEA. I’m really excited and can’t wait to get started! I’ve even dreamed about this darling dining room set. I really can’t wait to have nice furniture for once.

In other news, the old landlord is up to his old games again. We sent him a 30 day notice that we were moving out in January (we had a month to month lease), cleaned the apartment out, and like I said before, moved out well before the 1st of February. I also requested that he’d have someone come to the apartment and do a walk around which he of coarse never complied to my request. – I will be bringing that up in court on Monday. Anyways, my husband went to return the keys and asked him about our deposit. This fool had the nerve to say that we had to pay him February rent first. WHAT?! He has to be out of his mind. We notified you in writing and you knew we were moving out so we cannot possibly owe you a dime! My husband told him just that and gave him our forwarding address and told him that he expected our deposit no later than the 28th of this month. I guess I have to bring this up in court too. Thankfully I have every rent receipt from the months of September 2009-January 2010, as well as the letters I sent requesting repairs and notifying him that we were moving out. He is going to be in such a rude awakening when we appear before the judge on Monday! I will be bringing up how he moved us in a bedbug infested apartment as well!

Your landlord sounds like a nob-jocky. Glad you’re are moving away from all that negativity. It effect you more than you realise with the stress and stuff. The best things in life are worked for though, so cleaning the carpets for your Son’s allergies will be fulfilling and you’ll reap the benifits too.

Your landlord sounds a lot like my old one! Nevertheless, I’m glad that you guys are out of that place. I understood the discomfort you were feeling as I experienced the same.

      Me want to see pictures!!!!!

I’m glad that you’ve gotten to move out of that hellhole with that insane landlord! He should be permanently shut down because it’s insane that you had so many problems with his place. My landlord is slummy too, I have to basically get other people to fix things around the house since he refuses to do so. I take it out of the rent too, and he doesn’t say anything because he knows that he’s wrong! I honestly cannot wait to get out of here.

I experienced the same. I used to fix stuff around the house and send the receipt and the expenses to them with a before and after pic. Every month I ended up paying about $650 when my rent was $825. But the irony of that is that house STILL wasn’t worth $650. -smh-

Thank God you moved out of there. Now you can start over fresh with peace of mind.

WTF @ your ex landlord. Is he stupid? Something tells me he don’t have your deposit. That fool would’ve caught my fist. You moved out before the month was over and you wrote him a letter. What else he needed? To sky write it?
